Mural Painting of Ganesha

This is a kerala mural painting of Lord Ganesha playfully kicking the water with his feet . This acrylkic painting has been my full length mural and gave me immense pleasure to see the result of many days of painting,it gave me also the confidence to go into mural painting for the future.

This painting travelled all the way from India to New York last December and last week I got the picture from the proud owner Neelam . She says "it looks perfect and gives divine energy energy through out the house "

With few tips I had from artists friends I made a small piece of the same picture.I was pleased with the effort .In fact it was a very enjoyable experience showing each step to my friend and developing the shading.I am really inspired to do more.If you liked my painting do let me know.Thank you visiting my blog.

Acrylic Landscape painting - breaking the gap

Finally after a very long break I struggled to make another painting. When I got hooked up with the hook crochet became all important and after fewdays my confidence to paint seems to have run away! All my previous paintings which were framed got sold and someone needed two more of my paintings . Well I sort of cornered myself to paint. Stopped my crochet work for past two days and I was itching to do something.I didnot have the courage to attempt watercolors so went for acrylic. Most of my paints have gone dry.Anway a meak attempt to do something ,safer option was painting a picture which I have already done twice!!I was glad I could break the so called silence in my art.Well I am determined to get going with crochet and painting, so see you soon and regularly.

Ladakh landscape the first view of pangong lake

Acrylic on canvas board 10x12"
Hello everyone here is my next painting of the Ladakh landscape series.  Every time I decide to do a painting of Ladakh I cannot resist going through all the photographs that I have taken in Ladakh. Its such good memories that there is always an enthusiasm for painting  which comes into play. It was the birthday of dear Indira who came with us for the trip.So this  one goes to her. This painting is done in acrylic colors on canvas board.
Indira you may be remember that first sight of Pangong Tso lake . Our travel coordinator Deepa called out to us to lookout for that first sight and now I knew why as soon as I saw it ,its so special. The jewel like blue is  the first glimpse of the lake through the mountains. Panong lake is in Ladakh,India and extending 60% in to China. Its at a height of 14270ft (4350mtrs).Its 134 km long. The lake has beautiful blue color which changes according to light .The view of the lake is most panoramic since its surrounded by mountain ranges.

Tulips in acrylic

Past few days  I was experimenting on  getting a framed effect  for a painting done in acrylic on stretched canvas(size 16x24") from FineArt.The subject was a colorful field of tulips. The margins were painted like a frame  leaving one side open for the painting to stretch out of the canvas. This painting goes to my friends new house.

I am so fond of detailing which I am yet to master in acrylic hence  i feel i could have done better.Anyway I am posting this just for comparison later.
